What We Do

Meet Me at the Well Foundation has several programs in place to aid and serve survivors and their children. Our hope is to support survivors as they move forward in life finding success and value beyond what they imagined for themselves or their children. We come alongside as they recover and build a new life, and offer assistance where and when we can. Donations and volunteers are a large part of each of these programs.

To inquire about how you or your group can directly impact the lives of people in your community, please email us at MeetMe@TheWellDE.org

 The H.E.A.L. Program

HEAL is a four module workshop that provides survivors with hands-on opportunities to strengthen skills in Health, Empowerment, Awareness, and Leadership. HEAL mentorships is at the pace of the survivor, and group sessions are available as well. The modules are not linear and can be accessed for as long as the survivor chooses to participate.
Health - exploring the benefits of movement, nutrition, and spiritual connection to facilitate physical and emotional healing.
Empowerment - discovering personal strengths and applying them to recognize the power of voice in self-efficacy, making choices, and holding boundaries.
Awareness - recognizing vulnerabilities and learning how to build resilience around them, especially in relationships.
Leadership - practicing skills learned to set goals and achieve them with thoughtful and long-term guidance in education and business.

Birthday Program

One of the first programs our founder, Amy Day, put in place was the birthday card program. We send each survivor a birthday card with a gift card. Small gestures communicate big things! One woman told Amy she had not received a gift or card since she was seven years old. We were so grateful to break that cycle.

Fresh Start

We offer a variety of items to help with the large expenses of furniture, linens, pantry items, cleaning tools, cleaning products, and hardware such as curtain rods. We accept donations of used furniture, dishes, and baby furniture in good condition. If you would like to participate through donations or volunteering please contact us.

Holiday Support Program

We offer survivors everything they need for a holiday meal with their family. Some have family to visit, some have the ability to supply everything, and a few have nothing to offer their children on holidays including Easter, Thanksgiving, or Christmas.

Purses with Purpose Program

New purses or care bags are filled with new items and shared with the community during outreach events. The items are always season appropriate and include thoughtful gifts as well, such as:
  • winter hat, scarf and gloves
  • socks / slippers
  • personal care items
  • handmade jewelry
  • gift card
  • make up, nail polish
  • creative writing supplies
  • devotionals or journals

Community Outreach & Education

We work to provide critical information to prevent exploitation. We have sponsored community public awareness events, provided training for the local Department of Defense Sexual Assault Response units, and presented to corporate and academic organizations. Our program informs the community through public awareness and training events, and advocates for change in social and judicial systems to disrupt trafficking in our community.

Amy Day Scholarship

Amy Day, our founder, was passionate about helping survivors of sex trafficking to take back their power.
This memorial scholarship will offer assistance to survivors of exploitation in obtaining a GED, certificate or vocational training, college credits or other education related expenses. This is a significant step in supporting their own life and their family.
